FURTHER PLANS

CHANGE POINT DETECTING

Some parts of our algorithms are still not perfect. For instance, when trying to detect the change points on signal plots, we hard-coded the threshold value of the slope of the flexes, which is not ideal since the intensity of the flexes and the magnitude of the peaks are both subject to change and depend on the user. Therefore, hardcoded values could not suffice when those crucial parameters vary drastically. Moving forward, we are trying to find a way to resolve this issue and potentially find a function that relates the threshold and the peak parameters.

PERFECTING CUSUM ALGORITHM

The Cumulative Sum is one of the most essential parts of this project and merits a huge amount of work and development. We will spend most of our time tweaking the system to make it more effective. We have a basic understanding of how this technique works theoretically, but the actual algorithm requires scrutiny and further development.

FULLY SERVICEABLE ARM

The ultimate goal of this project is to have a fully operative prosthetic arm. To achieve that, we would need to wrap up the algorithm directing the prosthetic arm and put the sensors in place. Moreover, we need to ensure that the algorithms work in harmony when put together.
